 California Pacific Spends Far Less On Poor, Report Says
California Pacific Medical Center, including its St. Luke’s campus, is San Francisco’s most profitable hospital, yet it spends proportionately far less on care for poor residents than other private nonprofit hospitals in the city, according to a new report. … the report released Thursday by UC Hastings College of the Law found the hospital, which is affiliated with the Sutter Health network, spends considerably less than other hospitals on charity care when compared with the amount of money received per patient (Colliver, 12/9). <

Couple shocked to see actress at wedding

Wedding insurance customers may be envious of one couple who got to meet one of Hollywoods most famous actresses on their big day.

As bride Freya McAnally arrived at Manchester Town Hall she was greeted by applause from a host of stars including Meryl Streep, Richard E Grant and Jim Broadbent.

The trio were among the cast of the forthcoming film The Iron Lady, which was being shot at the venue.

Streep plays the former prime minister Margaret Thatcher in the movie and sent the couple two signed photographs and a congratulations note in recognition of their wedding.

Describing the day, Ms McAnally said: “It was all very surreal Meryl Streep was standing there dressed as Margaret Thatcher.

Earthquake Insurance Coverage in California is not covered under the “All Risk” Policy

California is prone to natural disasters. Just this last Sunday, Southern California was pummeled with rainstorms that drenched the area with intense downpours throughout the day. In Los Angeles County, evidence of this is all over as the affluent neighborhood of Hancock Park found itself underwater in various residential pockets. Even boutique stores along the famous Melrose Strip were flooded.

Probably the strongest evidence of this storm’s damage is in the San Pedro area, where the roadway collapsed in a landslide into the ocean. Although this was an area of concern before the rainstorm, it was certainly driveable before Sunday. T

Du Pont Family Motorcycle Collection Being Offered at Auction

The motorcycle collection of the Du Pont family (of the chemical empire) is going up on the auction block and the collection includes nearly fifty motorcycles built over the course of 70 years.

The Du Ponts have a pedigree in the motoring industry which included luxury automobiles and the family also originally invested in Americas first motorcycle manufacturer Indian before they took over the failing company way back in 1929.

E. Paul Du Pont ran the Indian Motocycle Company from 1930 to 1945 when the chemical family scion took over the reins of the struggling firm in the early yearsof the Great Depression.
