Maine’s Governor Has A Hard Shell
Last month, he signed a budget that fills a $120 million shortfall in the current fiscal year partly with contentious cuts to Maine’s Medicaid program, which is among the most generous in the country. And at his direction, lawmakers in coming weeks will begin debating $80 million more in Medicaid cuts for the next fiscal year (Levitz, 3/5).

Experts on the nation’s Medicaid program say that Gov. Sam Brownback’s plan to remake the state’s system for delivering health care to the poor, elderly and disabled is among the most far-reaching in the United States.

Isle of Man TT Zero Electric Class Motorcycle Race To Get Electric Honda Entry

Honda first brought their motorcycles to the Isle of Man in 1959, and they took home a victory in the 125 class, and now the company plans to return to the Isle of Man TT to debut an electric-powered race bike.

While the new electric bike will be fielded by Mugen, a Honda motor racing division, its certain HRC will play a big role in the attempt at the Isle of Man TT. The bike will be entered in the TT Zero category.

Even though more women are increasingly responsible for half of all household expenses, many are not planning ahead with life insurance in case of a catastrophe. Most women either have too little insurance – or none at all, which can be disastrous if a worst-case scenario comes to fruition. Approximately 64 percent of women have no life insurance whatsoever, according to some studies.

Resolutions for P&C Insurers in 2012

P&C insurers have had a taste of doing business in 2012, and they realize they are dealing with a tough environment—one in which little or no organic customer growth exists to fuel corporate growth. Gaining market share means taking it away from someone else, so the level of competitiveness in the industry is high and will only get more intense.

At the same time, customer expectations regarding service and value are growing dramatically. P&C carriers gaining an edge today are those that are employing tools and information to do two things: out-execute the competition operationally, and out-serve the competition from a customer perspective.

The common denominator here is information, and the technologies that deliver that information and help translate it into effective goals, decisions and execution. A
